Hi,

I have recently applied for temporary work permit visa to Canada from outside of Canada. My visa is still been processing. My employer is based in whitehorse and i received two years contract from her for salary of 12 dollars per hour (But, she promised me to pay 15 dollars an hour in the interview)

I would like to know if it is possible for me to change my employer once i arrive to Canada, what will be the process?

Can i find a part time job from somewhere else and work until i receive a new LMO from a new employer? because it takes 2-3 months to get a new LMO or else can i work with a new employer who is willing to offer me a job until i receive the new LMO?

Please be good enough to advise me regarding this issue.

Regards,

1. New Employer, New approved LMO (10-16 weeks) New Work Permit before you start work.
2. No and No, it is called working illegally and can get you removed from Canada.

Hi PMM,

Thanx for an immediate reply..

If i found a new employer and new lmo whilst i work at BC( 1st employer), would she allow me to leave the job as i have signed her contract for two years?

Can she take any legal action even i have new lmo and new employer?

Despite, CIC asked me to provide IELTS after i submitted my visa and i wasnt aware about IELTS by the time i submitted the application. i didnt hv much time to take an exam and i gave them my current IELTS report which is overall 6 point and just one section( reading) down with 4.5. Do u think this will matter?

Kindly advise ?
Regards,

When you come here, talk to your employer about the hourly rate at first. They might increase it to $15. Perhaps once they posted for job advertisement and applied for LMO, they used $12 on those documents. They cannot change it now without cancelling this LMO.

I have seen contract was signed for $13 but once the employee arrived in Canada, the employer increased it to $14 even though the employee didn't ask for it.
