Temporary visa about to finish and still waiting for permanent residence applica

Hi,

Hopefully someone can shed some light on what i should do in my situation as i have rang CIC every day for almost three weeks and not once i have been able to talk to someone.

They recieve my permanent residency application in March (that i could check online) which i sent in January. It's a common law application.

Anyways my problem is my temporary visa expires on OCt 18th and i want to know where i stand if my application hasn't been processed by then. I have a really good job that i don't want to have to leave it.

Anyone been in this situation before. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What kind of temporary visa do you have? How did you apply for PR? Inland? Outland?

its a (my second and last) one year work permit, i'm from ireland. i'm applying in canada (i'm living in QC)
