temporary resident status?

Hello,

I am an Australian citizen, and have recently received my 'eligibility to apply for permanant residence' letter from CIC (family class sponsorship). My current work permit is about to expire (in 5 days!), however, i have already applied for an open work permit. I haven't received it yet, and it may be another month or so before i get it.

Does anyone know if i will lose my legal temporary resident status during this time? Also, if my open work permit is rejected (i hope it won't be!), what happens then??

Did you submit your OWP application along with your inland application? Or did you apply for the OWP separately?

I had submitted it separately. does it make a difference?
