Hey guys,
I'm getting desperate as I can't see a way around my issue. My visa expired, I have requested a new one, but with the holiday and due to a few unfortunate events, my visa was not yet approved, and I have a flight to catch to Brazil on the 16th.
Here's the details:I have a valid work permit, recently extended to the end of '17, a CSQ (for Quebec province profile), so I already have the PR request ongoing. Both me and my wife have stable jobs, never had any issues with immigration.
With the holiday today, our visas (already confirmed as approved by the CIC via phone) will only be updated on the MyCIC page Monday (14th), and my flight is Wednesday (16th).
Is there any legal way to speed up the stamping process, i.e, can I drive to Ottawa and act as my own courier and deliver the passports at the CPC?
Alternatively, given the above, what is the risk of being denied entry if I leave Canada and try to return without the stamp?
I have already ruled out getting the stamp in Brazil (it takes 19 days and my trip is 10 days), I'm not allowed to get a stamp on a country different than where it was approved, and I cannot legally ship my passport to anywhere but an embassy.
I have covered every single legal breach I could think of. I'm torn apart between taking the risk of reentry without a visa stamp and having to pay an astronomical fee to change my flight (and missing a wedding to which I'm part of the wedding party).
I'm taking any advice the community has to offer.
Thanks
