I am a seventeen year old girl , i just got my first part time job. I'll be eighteen by the time I move. I have a serious girlfriend in Canada but marriage is not an option any time within the next four years. Would it be possible for me to apply for temporary residence under these conditions? And if granted temporary residence could I apply for a work visa? If not could I apply for a visitors visa and while there apply for temporary residence? Please help,I'm desperate for any answers or advice at all.
Also would $600 USD be an okay amount to start the process of at least becoming a temporary resident?

This is probably the best place to start...

Are you visa exempt or do you need a visit visa? If you are visa exempt, you can visit Canada as long as when you enter, they believe that you are coming for a visit and not planning on staying permanently. In order to work in Canada, you would need to find an employer who will apply for a labour market opinion for you and if they get it, you can apply for a work permit. Getting a labour market opinion approved can easily take 2-3 months so even if you do find an employer who wants to hire you, it will not happen fast.

$600 is not going to go far when you move to another country. Just getting the work permit will cost you $150 but even more costly are your living expenses as you look for a job and even if you get a job, until you start to get paid.
