Okay, So I'm actually so confused with this.

What do I DO. Since I got married, knowing when to put married and when to not put married has been my hell.

For taxes, how do you do it? What do you do when your spouse lives in another country?

I'm in Ontario. Any other Ontarians done it before?

I got married in July of 2015. I advised CRA as soon as I got back. I provided a statement of world income for my spouse as I have a child from another relationship and CCTB required it. Most tax software/tax preparers ask you if you got married in 2015. Once you update the status with CRA you're pretty much good to go.

I also filled out new provincial and federal tax forms with work. I just simply let CRA know in the world income form that my husband is a non resident and nothing much really changed. Hopefully this helps

Guh I didn't let them know, but it was only December. Hope that doesn't bother much.

So I still have to declare his income, right?

I believe you have 30 or 60 days to notify them. I had to declare it because it will affect the CCTB and other family benefits that are income based. They requested that I submit a world income form and stopped my CCTB payment until they received it. And yes you will need to declare it if you're in a similar situation.

I don't get anything I don't think.. Oh wait for 2014 I got the tax credit thingy. I guess I need to find out how to inform them.. Though I'll be doing my taxes shortly.

I don't receive anything except CCTB and GST quarterly but they wanted it for CCTB. I believe that letting them know when you do your taxes is sufficient especially because you were just married a month ago

Especially since I can't inform them because it WON'T LET ME SIGN ON

You can let them know and submit your world income all at the same time when you file your 2015 taxes. It just means you will not be able to E-file your return.

E-file meaning like using a tax program? I always use a tax program.. I don't know how to do it otherwise..

And you will definitely be able to e-file or use a tax software of your choice
