Hey guys, please help me out.

Im sponsoring my wife, but i havent filed my taxes since 2013 , can i use my notice of assessment of 2012 instead?
I appreciate your help!

Perhaps just use that one. Explaining why you don't have a more recent one. And then try and get a more recent one.

As far as I know, for spousal sponsorship, they don't really look at your financial situation.
You are right. But you still have to show that you are capable of supporting the spouse when he/she is here as they do not want the sponsor and the applicant to go onto welfare. Bank statements, letter of employment, university degree, tax returns and showing previous employments all help.

If you don't have the 2016 notice of assessment, you have to explain why. If the only reason is that you just didn't file your income tax return, they will ask you to do so. If you have a better reason, such as working outside of Canada, then the explanation plus proof should be OK instead of a recent NOA.
