Hey All.
Just have a little question about tax returns. I moved to Canada from the UK August 23rd 2010 and I'm now trying to file my 2010 taxes. I received my P60 slip from the UK and the tax year is different (tax year to 5 April - 2010). So I'm a bit confused on the following:
A - Do I have to mention that I worked in the UK - or in tax terms "claim that I received foreign income" even though I was living and working in the UK anyways and it's part of the UK-Canada Tax Treaty?
B - If so, how do I fill out the form? Do I write the amount in that different tax year and state that it's tax exempt but also indicating how much I paid in taxes?
Oh yeah...and another important fact. I lived in Canada and filed my taxes about 6 years previously. So I think Canadian Revenue is going to flag up my tax submission so I want to be 100% honest.
Thanks so much in advance.
