Hi,

I was working in Canada in 2010, 2011.

I filed tax returns for these years .

But In Dec 2011 I returned to my home country , But i kept my bank account in Canada in 2012 as some tax returns used to deposit in that account.

I have received T5 slips for 2012 ( I was not residing whole year 2012 in Canada(non-resident) for more than 500 dollars as interest income for that bank account in Canada.

I have received notice from CRA to file returns for 2012.

So how much Tax I have to file for CRA and which forms I have to fill ????, Confused Please help.

Thanks
Sam

Go to the CRA site, look under forms and publications and find the 2012 income tax and benefit package for non-residents and deemed residents. Download that, fill it out, send it in. Expect to pay about $110 Canadian tax on the $500 Canadian source income, plus a bit in interest and penalties.

If you still had money in a Canadian account and earned interest during 2013, you're going to have to file for 2013 as well.
