Taking up part time courses post landing

For those who will be landing as a PR
has anybody tried taking up courses in their field?
Part time or online or weekend courses from Universities?
Will these courses help us to fetch good jobs because the international experience will noylt be considered once we land and Ibhave heard employers offer lower or entry level jobs to immigrants.

It helps but not much. Employers want to see Canadian experience.
