Can I take summer classes at a Canadian University (that's transferable)? If so, would I need a study visa or a visitor visa (less than 6 months of study)? The reason I ask is that my university does not offer a certain class in the summer, but I'm sure one of the many universities in Canada may offer it in the summer. I'm an Indonesian national, so I'd need a visa of some sort. I'm currently studying in the US.

People prefer USA for studies.. In ur case its reverse. STRANGE :P

There are n number of univ in USA.. y u wana come to CANADA. ????

Try to get the same course in US for summer.

You don't need study permit , if the proposed study duration is less than 6 months.

Good Luck.

I can certainly do it in the US, but the paperwork and fees to have my study permit switch from my current university to the next one and back again seems like a bigger hassle. I also have a QSW pending, so I'd like to attend a college in Montreal to see if like my potential new hometown. The other part is if a university would admit students who are just taking summer courses, but I guess that's not really an immigration related question.

To be honest, it will be hassle.
As first you need transfer credit to Canadian University and then after 1 semester , again credit transfer to U.S university.
It is better to go Florida and enjoy summer :D
