Hi everyone, I'm going to study at NBCC and I'm starting my application. I am my nephew's legal guardian and I wanted to know if I'm able to take him with me without having to legally adopt him. I couldn't find a proper answer about it.

Sorry for your loss. According to the IRCC: A dependent child is either a biological child or an adopted child of a parent [R2(a)]. So don’t think you could bring your nephew here. Other can chime in.

You'll need to legally adopt him.
