Hi,
I have applied for PR under CEC category (details on my signature panel). I am working for federal government (contractual basis) and I received T4A instead of T4. No tax is deducted from my gross salary; however, I have to pay taxes at the end. Let me know if receiving T4A will have any impact on PR application. I have sent all my records to CIC which includes, T4A, and NOA.
Any help is appreciated :)

I believe you need T4s to qualify for CEC. If you receive T4As and no tax is deducted from your gross salary - then you are self employed and therefore don't qualify for CEC.

Thanks scylla!!
I am aware that self employment is not considered for CEC but I am paying taxes and my job is not similar to self-employment. Not sure how visa officers would react.

I am sure, not all the T4A are consider as self-employment. As you said its all depends on Visa officer.

r u a postdoc or a nserc fellow? some postdocs got their cec app approved with T4As. i am in the same situation
and just sent off my application in aug.

I am NSERC postdoctoral fellow. It seems the stipend we get is considered fellowship but then it is taxable. Hopefully everything goes fine.

Noone on this forum works for CIC & or are recognised immigration consultant. (I am sorry if anyone gets offended). What you need is a professional expertise as its your life you are talking about. I would suggest you to talk to Mr. Edward Koach of ferrera & koach immigration services (consultation is free of cost)..find them on google.
