Switching from BOWP to Closed WP

Hi All

I came to Canada in Sep 2013 on closed work permit - NOC - "0". Applied for PR in Oct 2014 and got my AOR in Feb'15. After getting AOR, I applied for BOWP last year which I got after 100 days. It expires in June 2016. Have not applied for any GCMS notes so far..

I know I dont have to worry about it right now - but looking at the confusion about the new rules of BOWP, I am wondering if I should let my employer apply for a closed work permit for me when the time comes.. For sure it is restrictive me but it let me stay in Canada.

What I dont know is if I am allowed to switch back to Closed work permit with my PR application in progress. Any thoughts?

I think you are allowed to switch to closed work permit any time as long as you have a valid LIMA.
The opposite does not work though: if you have a valid LIMA you are not eligible to apply for BOWP.
 
Why would you want to switch to a closed work permit? What if your employer terminates you, then you are screwed! Just apply for a second BOWP and do it in time. If you apply in Fanuary or February 2016 so you should get approval in time.

What exactly is the confusion about the new BOWP rules? All CIC did was make it easier for new PR applicants.
If your application is still in process and you are within 4 months of the expiry of your current BOWP, you can apply for another one.
