Hi!
I was issued an 1-year suspension by UofT due to poor academic performance. I consulted with the immigration advisor of UofT and was told that my study permit remains valid during suspension. However I am not allowed to stay in Canada for more than 90 days, unless I enrol in another DLI.

For some reason I planned to stay in Canada for this 1 year suspension. I enrolled in a DLI program but it was only 2 months long. After that I didn't enrol in any other DLI because if so the tuition would be pretty expensive. So technically I have been overstayed in Canada for 3 months with my "valid" study permit (kind of weird).

My question is that will my overstay affect my future entry to Canada? If it will, what can I do now to resolve the problem?

Thanks a lot for your help :)

I was told once you are no longer a full-time student you are not allowed to work.
I think maybe you have to live off your GIC alone. Borrow money from family & friends and get into another course before the 3mo are up

Cant really do much now, you are probably not elligable for PGWP because of the gap but new rules are not clear here also you MIGHT face issues if you ever need to extend your study permit but not necessarily, all depends on the officer who handles your case.

Short term courses do not allow you to work. The program must be full time and at least 8 months long in order for you to be able to work.

You can only apply for PNP or EE if you have valid status in Canada.
