Hi Experts,

I am a PR in Canada and my wife got tourist visa approved for 10 years :)). we applied in INDIA.
Note: My wife's PR application is in progress.

My questions is:

Question: Is it mandate (by airlines and/or Canadian immigration) to buy return ticket to come to Canada on visitor visa ? if yes, then:

1. Should my wife buy return ticket of 5.5 months ? - will it be an issue to consume almost entire visitor visa duration ?
2. Should my wife buy return ticket of 1 month ? as we wrote in Cover letter, so as to avoid trouble at port of entry when asked by border officer...

Please help..

Regards,

Yes - you must purchase a return ticket. The airline most likely won't let your wife board the flight to Canada without one.

You can buy a return of 5.5 if you want to. i don't see the issue given the visa has been granted.

Hi Scylla,

First of all - MANY THANKS for quick reply.

Just want to share that we applied from INDIA (modified my question as well, above). return ticket rule still applies.. right ?

Return ticket rule applies no matter where you are flying from.
