Hi all,
I apologize if this is the wrong place to ask, but I am having trouble finding an authoritative answer on this question.
My wife and I are both Canadian citizens that have both been though the immigration process (myself in 2002, and my wife in 2019) - both from Ukraine.
My wife is looking to start the process for the Supervisa for her father, to have him visit Canada (he is currently in Ukraine) we are looking to apply online, but have some questions that we would like clarification for:
1) Translation of documents - much like every other process that we have been through, the CIC website states that documents must be in either English or French, however, despite this I have a question that does not make much sense to me. A coworker of mine has had his mother-in-law come from Columbia. His documents were never translated (Proof of relationship, letter of invitation) - they were written in Spanish - even the ones that were from Columbia. His reasoning is that the visa office is in Bogota, so it did not matter.
So, my questions:
a) has anyone not translated their documents and was told that it's fine?
b) should I write documents in 2 languages (i.e. letter of invitation/promise of sponsorship) (Ukrainian and English)
2) Notarization of copies - should I have to make copies, I know that the CIC website requires them to be notarized. How does one provide notarized copies in a digital format? Are the CIC okay with PDF copies of notarized documents? Are they really required?
3) Aside form the letter of sponsorship (financial support, etc), proof of income, paid insurance, am I missing something? I read that you need to prove relationship between the parent and the child (sponsoring parent that is) - but the CIC page here omits this - is this required? https://www.canada.ca/en/immigratio...nada/parent-grandparent-super-visa/apply.html
4) Tickets - should tickets be purchased as well, in advance of the sponsorship process?
Thank you everyone, I value any information and help that I can get!
