Hello, I'm in need of help and this is my scenario:

I was approved PG-1 (Supervisa) on May 3, 2017 and my understanding is that, I could stay in Canada for upto 2years when I enter into the country and this visa is valid for 10 years (multiple entry). After the application was approved, I sent my new passport (since old passport had an expiry Dec 16, 2018) to get a visa stamped that had validity upto April 22, 2022. But, somehow, I received a stamp on the NEW passport until Dec 15, 2018 (makes sense if it was on OLD passport). > Or is this a mistake?

Now, I entered Canada in May of 2018, and I got a stamp on my new passport to stay in Canada until May of 2020 from the airport immigration officer. I'm planning to go back to my country Jan, 2020 but I'm confused if I can enter back into Canada with my new passport, with an expiry PG-1 visa! I understand that, I would need a Super Visa stamp on the new passport with a new expiry date (atleast, April 21, 2022) and I actually submitted an application on Nov 21, 2018 that got cancelled (reason: "you have a valid temporary status as a visitor until May 20, 2020.")

Can you please help me understand what should be my next step? I want to come back to Canada in the summer of 2020 and how can I get a new stamp on the new passport? Can this be done within Canada?

Thank you.

No, you cannot return to Canada on an expired supervisa. You would need to apply for a new one.

Did you apply initially with the previous passport and get a new one mid-process? Did you update IRCC with your new passport?

In Nov 2018, you submitted an application to extend your visitor status in Canada, not to apply for a new supervisa, hence the cancellation.

"Did you apply initially with the previous passport and get a new one mid-process? Did you update IRCC with your new passport?"

--- Yes, initially applied with Old Passport but send the NEW passport to Singapore to get the visa stamp, which was given on the New passport with Old passport expiry date. Not sure how to update IRCC with new passport.

Also, what should I do now? Should I apply for new super visa from scratch? Can I do it while I am in Canada?

You should have sent a Webform with the new passport as soon as it was received. If you didn't actually update IRCC and just sent the new passport for stamping, then it makes sense that the validity was in line with the previous passport.

Yes, you need to apply for a new supervisa. As a visitor, you need to apply as if you were outside of Canada.
