Hi All,
I was wondering, if my parents stay in Canada with a supervisa, do they have to pay taxes (they receive a pension in their home country)?

if they get a canadian income then they have to pay tax; but i guess on visitor visa you cannot work or get a SIN

You don't have to be working in order to get canadian income. Bank interest and dividends are some examples.

but how would bank open your account without a SIN

The OP below said he is a tourist and got a bank account in Alberta without a SIN:

In Ontario, I was told at royal bank that a SIN is optional.

that guy got it leveraging his marriage certificate, but for a normal john doe visitor it is not possible i think to open a bank account without having 2 forms of canadian IDs

In August 2010, my wife opened an account at Scotia Bank in Ottawa using only her passport as identification. They also checked her visa to make certain her status in Canada was legal.

If they stay in Canada 183 days, they will be deemed residents (unless a tax treaty with their other country of residency dictates otherwise)

Take a look at http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/tx/nnrsdnts/ndvdls/dmd-eng.html for details on their obligations.
