Hi.

Can anyone please help me on this? My father's super visa is expiring in December 2025. He is currently in Canada. Can i apply for super visa extension from within Canada? Should i do this myself or get a consultant hired for this? The super visa application was filed by myself in 2022 October.

You cannot extend a supervisa. He applies for a new one outside of Canada. If you want to extend his stay as a visitor then apply for a visitor record. This is not a family immigration issue, but post under visitors with more questions.

As already indicated this is a visitor question but if he arrived in Canada as a visitor on the supervisa after October 2022 he was granted a 5 year visit unless otherwise indicated on his passport. The one requirement to keep his status is that he secure supervisa insurance every year that is valid for a year. A supervisa is a travel document like a passport for example so is only needed when entering Canada. When he returns home from this visit he should reestablish himself in his home country before applying for a new supervisa and potentially visiting Canada again. He is only visiting Canada so he should not appear as though he has permanently moved to Canada.
