Hi guys, i am in real distress, please help me out.

I applied 2 days ago for my parents super visa through online. My parents went yesterday and gave their biometric to Lhr VO.

When I did their eligibility, for the question "how are you related to your family member" i picked "grandparents/parents" and proceeded to submit the application under visitor visa as I thought that for supervisa its also the same thing.

I just got to know yesterday that we were suppose to pick "child/grandchild" and then it gives us option to apply for Super visa where we can upload the medical insurance and employment letter appropriately into correct section.

I have still provided all the document (medical insurance, employment letter, paystub , etc) but under what i found suitable in extra explanation section.

now my concern is would the visa officer consider my application as a viister visa as i had applied under that category. Or would they still look it at as a super visa since i provided all the required documents for the super visa application and even in my invitation letter i mentioned i am applying for super visa.

please, if anybody has gone through the same thing share ur experience. I have also applied for their visitor visa in the past where it was rejected so thts y now tht i meet LICO i wanted to go for supervisa.

Please help and share ur views and experience..

We did the same mistake, but it got approved fro Super Visa.
We just attached birth certificate of both my uncle and his mom and, arrival and departure tickets, biometrics and medical.

We are waiting for her passport to be returned with the Visa.

You should be fine as long as you prove relationship with host, either through birth certificate as we did or attestation.

Could you please let me know how long it took from application date to passport call?
Thanks.

omg, thank u so so so much. this really helps a lot. Yes I had uploaded the birth certificate as well. This has given me a lot of hope since past 2 days. They havent done the medical yet, coz ive read that if they need it they will ask for it. Hoping all goes well .
Thank you again

I'm not sure if it's based on country or what not but ours didn't take long and we had all the information up front.

Our country was Democratic Republic of Congo.

CIC it has a processing time of 22 days for my country.

Where do you see the processing time of super visa for your country?
CIC has no category for super visa time: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/index.asp
The parent and grandparent shows currently processing of 2014.

Hi MK88

I just want to give you an updated. We have received my grandma's passport with visa... she will be travelling in about 2-3 weeks.

Once again do not fret and all the best.

Thank you for updating.

I am trying to remain positive, but the fact remains it has been more than one week (submitted on 11 Dec) but still haven't heard anything back from them :-[ :-[ :(

it requires 3 to 4 week to get medical request, the difference between super visa and ordinary visa is of insurance of CAD100000 for one year, and notarized deceleration of support /invitation letter, if you have submitted these then it should fall under super catagory
