Hi.

I am planning to apply for my mom's super visa. However, I have a brother who is 16 years old and is her dependent. How does the process work? My father has passed away some time ago. Let me know please.

Thank you

Your mother can still visit you. And your brother should be able to take care of himself for couple of weeks if it's a short visit. And if he gets a visitor visa, he can take the trip with your mom and stay e.g. for the summer when he doesn't need to go to school.

Agree but right now your brother also needs written authorization to travel along with the visitor visa.

Hi

So I really want my brother to come and visit too. So if you are suggesting to apply for a visitor visa, should I explain that why he is applying and can I be the sponsor as my mom is a homemaker. Let me know please.

Thank you

You can invite him but your mother should be able to show that she can pay for your brother's travel along with her own. HE may have trouble proving he has enough ties to prove he will return home. They should apply for a short visit and it should be during school break.

Also depending where your brother lives, processing can be from 6 months to over a year.
