Hi senior members

I need help with my situation. My parents arrived in Canada on supervisa first week of July this year. The visa officer stamped their passport with 2 year visa ending in July 2019 on the same day they entered Canada. My father will be returning to his home country as living in Canada for long time was never his intention. But my mother will be staying with us.

My question is if my father wishes to return to Canada next year does he need new visa on his passport or his previous stamp will be good enough. In other words I want to ask whether the stamp that ends in July 2019 is good for multiple entry to Canada in that time frame. And while leaving Canada does he need to get some sort of stamp on his password as well?

Each entry into Canada is assessed at the POE on arrival. The stamp on your fathers passport indicates he can stay for two years..it doesn't mean he has to stay for two years. When he returns next time, CBSA will determine how long he can stay. The current stamp will not be valid. Have a look on the TRV in the passport...does it say multiple under number of entries? If it does he can come multiple times on the document.
