summer semester off for visiting India

Hello

I am studying in Columbia College Vancouver and its currently my second semester here , I wanted to go visit India during summer time but I am not sure if I can take summer semester off or not because many people are saying that its illegal and all the stuff so I need to confirm if I can ? because I don't want to violate any law.

Is the summer break a scheduled break or a break that you are deciding to take off ?

I am deciding to take but I confirmed from one of counsellor and they said there is no problem in taking off

I would ask specifically if it is a scheduled break because you will be applying for PGWP and can only take a break during scheduled breaks. Are you classmates from your program also taking the summer off?
