My partner in Canada wants me to come up a month in advance to plan our wedding.
So this is so confusing for me when ever I visited the past 5 yrs I never got my passport stamped.
So do I say I am getting married ?( I will never lie if they ask me)
Do I just come over as usual for my visit?
If so how do I extend my visit if need to after filing ?( I am from the us)
What should I do ahead of time? I was thinking of getting my finger prints done in the US. and medical done there.
Any thing else I should think of?
So scary...anything I am missing?
Any help is appreciated thanks

Well if you say you are coming to get married they will likely not let you in best you just say your visiting a friend. And when your here you can extend your visit.Make sur you have police reports from every place you lived. The FBI clearence takes the longest so send it in right away. Then when you go to apply you can apply outland to buffalo and have your canadian address as your correspondance address.

At this point I would plan to come as a visitor....

Then after you file for PR, just be sure that you stay here legally, Which could mean you have to go back to the States, then come back again to visit. You can extend your visit by applying for an extension before the six months is up. I didn't know this, and had to make a trip back to the States so that I could come back and have legal status.

It really is a hassle. Especially that after you are married, you can not use that in order to stay as a visitor.

Other than that, everything iarblue said is very important. I would request FBI clearance at least three months before you plan to file for PR, also make some phone calls about medical.
