Thank you EVERYONE for both reading and responding to my inqueries!!! You have all been so helpful and patient. Thanks!!

So bottom line: I'm hearing a lot of "Insufficient Ties" when seeking a long term stay in Canada.

Now it's time for the better news. What exactly can one show as "sufficient ties" when seeking to stay in Canada for 6 months plus, (keep in mind, I'm a US Citizen hence I don't need a visitor's visa to enter Canada, and I am seeking to stay as long as possible while we wait for the results of PR which has yet to be sent out).

Thank you all for your help!!!!

Cheers!!!

A job, a lease to an apartment or a house, family obligations.. I'm sure there are others that people can contribute :)

i used a job offer that was left open to me for when i returned, and the rental agreement for where i stayed. The IO didn't even look at it, but as i said i had a good experiance. Not really sure other than that

Any kind of obligations: you're due in court as a witness, you have jury duty, you're in school and you have to get back for the start of classes. Think about things along those lines.

Bank accounts or other types of major assets are good, too. Basically, anything that you wouldn't want to abandon, that would make you go back to your home country is good. The more of these you can, the better.
