Hello guys, I have a question regarding common-law relationship. My situation is a little complicated, so bare with me.
I moved in with my partner sometime last June, the whole PR thing was not on my mind then so I didn't add my name to the lease or the bill or anything apartment related. I only received one or two mail late October. I only started added my names to bills and other documents last November when I realized the importance of collection evidence for the PR application. And we only contacted apartment manager about adding my name to the lease late October, which failed because the manager insisted we will have to sign a new 1 year lease just to add my name and we declined since we planned to move to another province within a year. So my name is not on anywhere on the lease.
So in my case, what should I do to maximize my chance of successful PR application? Should 12 month co-habitation started from last June? But I have very little evidence of that. What if I ask apartment manager to sign a statement of what I said above? Would that sufficiently count as proof? Or should I only apply when I have 12 month worth of evidence of co-habitation? But in that case, do I say our co-habitation started in June or whenever I started having hard evidence?
