I thought I would repost the following learning from my experience:
To All who have applied recently (Outland)
After few months or so and before any decision has been made by VO, please send in additional supporting documentation to show that your relationship is continuing. Ie Skype logs, Facebook page print outs, more joint pictures with different people, money transfer receipt, if you have investments in Canada - make your spouse the beneficiary such as RRSP, pension plan, insurance, change of marital status form (CRA) etc. this will reaffirm your commitment and help your case.
I regret not sending these in and at the end helped tremendously during interview. Don't overwhelm the vo just send in important pictures and documents only. Write down explanation to everything so there is no room for assumptions.
If you are placed on the interview queue, they will not accept further proof until the day of the interview in person.
Best of luck!!

I haven't sent out the package to CPC-M yet but it will happen soon - so you are saying, after CPC-M transfers the file to the VO that we should send in additional "proof of relationship" photos/documents?

Were you requested for an interview and provided these ulterior documents there?

How would I address the new evidence? "New proof of continuing relationship"?

I'm just trying to get a better picture, in case I ever feel like I need to do that once the application is sent.

I submitted only three months worth of proofs after the wedding with my application. My file was transferred to Singapore where typical wait time is about a year. What I should have done, was to submit additional proof after about six months. I visited my spouse within that six months. So I actually had additional proof with pictures to show that the relationship was continuing.

With the interview letter, there was a request to provide further evidence that may help the case.

You could write a letter to the VO directly with your Client ID / File number as a reference stating that, further to your application you are submitting additional documentation to update your file.

Last week I voluntarily sent in additional proof as well because we submitted six months ago. I'm hoping it has a positive effect.

Were you in Canada while the person you were sponsoring was abroad?

I thought about this, but wasn't sure if the VO would make an issue out of it. I mean, he/she could conclude that we are trying too hard to prove the relationship and might further delay the process.

Wonder if more people would shed light on this. Has anyone else sent in additional proof after few months of the actual app?

I would definitely like to hear more on the subject.

Yes this was an Outland spousal sponsorship.

In my opinion it helps the decision making process if further and recent evidence is added to the file. However, if the initial submission is sufficient, it should not be a problem. It could be a long wait if the file is added to the interview list. Once in the list, VO will not accept update to the file.

We sent in more proof (only dated after our application was sent to mississauga) for this reason... to show we were in a continuing relationship and because we'd only been together for a year and a bit at the time of filing.

How long did you know each other before that?

We met online so we only knew each other for a few months before officially being in a relationship.

;) same here!

In our case we dated we knew each other for almost six years. And dated off and on during that time. We lived common law in Montreal for about 15 months.

She went back to Seoul in October 2012. I went there for xmas holidays and I will be going back in July.

Sooooo, I am thinking of submitting some of this info to the VO.

What is the best way to submit new proof? CSE or mailing a package?
