Friend of mine applied under CEC last year. Got Meds and LF request last week. His question was:
1. He works in Canada
2. His family is in Kolkata, India

When Buffalo asks for PPTs for Visa Stamping, will his family need to send PPTs to Buffalo? If yes, isn't it improper to send PPTs outside the country? What are the alternatives in this case?

Sorry Guys, since CEC is a new class, I haven't heard of a situation like this. If this is no different than cases handled in CHC London for Dubai, I can tell them to just courier the PPTs. Please help me so I can help him in return.

Sir bsrk68,

1. Yes, their pps have to be submitted@their VO (CHC-Buffalo in their case).
2. Yes, pps cannot be sent out of India by post/courier.
3. The only way of sending pps would be thru a "personal courier" (friend/relative as a 'carrier').
4. Though pps can be submitted separately - it'd be wise that the entire family submits them as "one package".
5. As transporting pps out-of-country, sans the owner/s, is illegal - each owner has to provide an "authority letter" to the 'carrier'.
6. To avoid hick-ups by an irate IO@POE, those 'authority letters' maybe typed on 'stamp papers' & notarized.

Hope that helped...

Sorry Qorax Da, that brings me to another question: Since he is in Toronto, will they stamp the visa and mail them back to Canada...or does he have to obtain a US Visa to get them stamped at Buffalo and bring them back?

As I understand - the CEC applicants have a choice to submit their pps either@CEC-Ontario or CHC-Buffalo.
