i just arrived here in canada last february 15, 2011 and i am planning to go back to the philippines for my college education. the problem is I will be needing 4-5 years to finish my course and to take the board exam. and i know that i need to stay here in canada for 730 days within five years.and may be it will be hard for me to come here during our summer vacation. can my residency be forfeited? are there any other possible solutions for my problem? thank you! :)

No consideration will be given to you to meet your residency requirements because you chose to study overseas. If you don't meet them, you lose your PR, simple as that.

My advice is that if you want to make your future in Canada, study in Canada. You will not have to worry about your PR, you can apply for citizenship after 3 years and it will be easier to get a job after you graduate if you have a Canadian degree.

Now I know. I think I will be continuing my studies here in Canada, for a better future.

Thank you for the help Leon! :D

I appreciate it. :)
