Hello everyone,

I applied for my permanent residency in October (now it's August) and I have been working in Canada (Quebec) under a Post-Graduate work permit. However, I was thinking about going abroad to France for one year to do a certificate in a university there to just explore and gain more experience and knowledge in my field.
My question is: Am I allowed to leave the country for an entire year to study abroad and then come back to Canada? I am afraid that, if they find out I am studying, they will reject my application. And if this is possible, if they accept my residency application and I am still abroad when this is done, will they send some notification by mail or do I need to be present in Canada when this happens? My other fear would be that this happens and I am not here to receive the letter and they therefore cancel my residency due to a lack of response on my part.
Any knowledge or suggestions on this issue would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!
