Hello all, I have a question pertaining my eligibility to apply for citizenship.
My family and I received my PR on March 18th 2016, before that we had a Protected Person status since 2011.
Now I am currently studying Medicine abroad which will require me to remain here for the next 4 years. I started my program in January of 2017 and only go home over the summer (1.5 months) and winter breaks (2 weeks).
My family members are eligible to apply for citizenship in March, 2018 and I was wondering I would be eligible to apply as well even if I don't have the required amount of physical residence days since I read on an immigration site that there are exceptions to the rule ( eg. work, study, emergencies)
Thank you for reading.

exceptions only apply to crown servants. go through the CIC website, but i dont think you can skip residency requirements for your case. if that was the case, then everybody who is eligible would be a citizen sitting in their home countries.

if you are going to stay outside of Canada most of the time, then even your PR renewal might be an issue. just check the rules.
