I applied Under University category on 17th july at chd VFS and received pp with a refusal on august 6.

My profile
IELTS 8 Bands
GRE 320/340
2005-2011 Bachelor of Dental Surgery, India (59%)
2011-2012 1 year gap ( gave GRE and TOEFL)
2012-2013 MSc Nutrition, England (63%)
2014 6 months gap
aug 2014-2015 Work Experience as a Nutritionist

I had applied for North American Business diploma at capilano university, Vancouver. My agent advised that since I am a MSc nutrition, wouldn't be wise to do a diploma on nutrition and i should add a new skill to my profile.

My refusal says that my proposed course are not reasonable with one or more of my qualification, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, language abilities and future plans.

Kindly suggest if it would make sense to reapply for Jan with a better course choice?

P.S I have had a visitor visa rejection in april this year. I had applied online and the refusal letter stated the purpose of the visit/ funds as a reason.

Sry to hear that dhillon bt y u chose this course? You should have chosen something related to ur past study and experience. Its a case of total mismatch.

what points had you written in your SOP. I mean what reasons did you mention for taking this course and how much finanaces did you show

It makes absolutely no sense to take a diploma if you already have a Master's degree. A diploma is a lower level of education than a Bachelors.

your consultant is roght. canada is very strict about studies and they wont let u switch over since they are trying to weed out non genuine students !

ur profile is good. remember the study gap shouldnt be more than 2 years for spp.

My counsellor suggested that i should add a new skill to my profile. Had i gone for a diploma/ course in nutrition, it wouldn't justify my qualification as i am already a master's in nutrition.

@scylla Yes it wouldn't have made sense had i applied for diploma in nutrition. But i wanted to add a new skill to my profile without spending so many years into it. For instance if i have to open my own clinic or franchise clinics etc. Do you think it would make sense to appeal?

@aniket i suppose finances are fine and not been pointed out in the refusal.
Finances showed
$5000 deposit paid
$10100 GIC paid
$10000 Fixed deposit on my name
$10000 Fixed deposit on parents
Besides parents current account statement ( $20000) and fixed assets.

SOP
i have been working at a franchise clinic as a clinic head from last 1 year and have been part of all managerial decisions besides being the nutritionist. So, i felt i want to start my own thing.

You profile is very good.
You should choose MBA program or another Master program at reputed University,
You have to proof a strong home ties
you must have a strong SOP to convince VO since you already refused visitor visa and student visa.

I hope you can get visa soon.

Cheers

There is no appeal process. Your only option is to reapply.

At least, you should go for double master degree or doctoral program..

Diploma is only for high school students or similar education level.

You choose wrong one and mismatch based on your profile.

You already studied the dental sugery then.. search about more relevent course (higher education level)

Also, you cant study dental assisting in Canada, either... as I said that you already have a degree(overqualified for diploma and certificate)

Thankyou everyone for your thoughts.
