Hi All,
My name is Piyush. I am a plumber in india and applied for an HVAC course in Toronto's George brown college and got selected, paid the fees. But my study visa has been rejected on the grounds that the course of my choice is not relevant. Though they both are technical courses. Also I had a score of 5.5 in a couple categories in IELTS but the better score in the other 2 brought me to the minimum threshold.Could that be a reason too?

I want to re-apply but cant figure out on what grounds should I do so.

I would greatly appreciate if any senior,VIP,star, champion or any member can shed some light on it.

Thanks in advance guys.

Piyush, please state the reason for your refusal. I shall try and help!

Thanks for replying.there were a number of checkboxes but the rejection letter only had one box marked which reads,...'your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of : your qualifications, previous studies, employment, level of establishment, language abilities,or your future prospects and plans.'

as I mentioned before,I am a plumber in india, have almost 4 years of full time paid work experience and now wanted to learn HVAC in canada.I understand the choice of course is not compatible but HVAC is a thriving industry in north india now with the spurt in high rise construction in cities like gurgaon where i have worked as a service and maintenance plumber.

dear Mead,
I applied for a study visa after my selection at george brown college in the January semester of their HVAC program. I am a certified plumber from ITI and have more than 3 years of fulltime paid work experience.
