Hello, I am currently in USA in asylum process with my husband. We haven`t receive the first interview for the asylum. I read that its almost impossible to obtain a student visa to Canada while in asylum status in USA.
If I withdraw my asylum case and come back to my country - how long I will have to wait until I can try to apply for a student visa from my country? Will it help, If I get the visa only for me (not for my husband as a warrant that I don`t have an immigration intentions to stay in Canada and after the study I will be back to my husband)?
Please, advise
Thank you

In all honesty, the fact that you attempted to claim asylum in the USA will make it all but impossible to obtain a visa for Canada. It probably won't matter how long you wait before trying. Sorry...

If you want to try this route, I would recommend that you wait at least a year after you return to your home country before trying for the student visa. During that year, you'll want to develop very strong ties to your home country. Even then, very hard to say what your chances of success will be given the past refugee claim in the US. It will certainly work against you.
