Study visa help

I am looking into applying for a student visa for a course that starts in September. I am aware I can still work on a study visa so I wondered does that kick in the first date of my study? Or could it kick in earlier? Basically I want to work over the summer as have a job but my current visa expires in May.

You need to have a valid student visa to be able to work. As long as it's a valid visa, you're fine

Sorry I should explain better..

I am currently on a work visa which expires in May.

I want to apply for a student visa for a course that starts in September.

So if I do this, am I able to carry on working? Or won't I be able to work again until I start my course?

You can't work between May - September.
