Help!!!!
Can someone ( a Nigerian)that applied for extension of stay in the US ( case still pending) apply with that status for a study permit in canada embassy? If yes, do l need to submit proof of my extension of stay in my application for a study permit to Canadian embassy?

You can try - but it may be difficult. IRCC typically wants to see that you have valid status in the country where you are applying from. At a minimum, you will need to provide proof that you have applied for an extension in the US. However this may not be enough. It would be better to wait until your extension is approved before attempting to apply for a study permit in Canada.

Thank you for the response but it usually takes 3-4 months before one gets a response from USCIS by which time my Sch would have resumed. I thought my application for extension validates my stay until a response from USCIS says otherwise. Please advise

One of the questions asked in the study permit form IMM1294 is " Current country of residence" please what would that be? I'm a Nigerian on a visit visa to USA. Kindly advise.
