You can apply all together or you can apply first and then apply for your family. Families of international students are not guaranteed visas to come to Canada. If you will only study if your family can come with you you should apply all together. It does tend to take longer. Your wife should apply for SOWP even if she doesn't plan on working and your child should apply for TRV.
