Hello,
Next year I'm applying to a Canadian college, I plan to apply for the Study permit as fast as I receive the LOA from the college. Just a few months before my highschool graduation and my 18th birthday.
-By the start of the course I will be 18, can I apply for a Study Permit before my 18th birthday?
-Do I need a custodian in Canada even though I'll be 18 at my arrival?
-Must my parents come with me or..?
I've heard a lot of stories about processing times, delays and rejected permits. My main concern is that immediately after my graduation I'll have to leave my residence country for a month, and then I'd land in Canada (without returning to my home country). For this reason I need the study permit as soon as I can within my last high school year, otherwise I won't be able to pick up the documentation.
I've tried asking in other forums, in the cic web... But I cannot find a clear answer.
In my country there's not a Canadian embassy, the closest one is in France and sending them emails and getting an answer might take months.
You may say I have a plenty of time to investigate, but I'll dedicate the whole summer to prepare the TOEFL/IELTS exam and a research project (this project is obligatory in order to graduate at the end of the school year).
Please, if you know something about this tell me.
