Hello, I have been accepted to a college in Canada, and now I need to apply for a student permit and I have some questions.

If I apply online there are some documents where they say to send depending on the case? What case? Is there any way If I will be asked for it?

And If I am asked for the criminal records, can I just have it translated by my English teacher and have him sign an affidavit?

And can I get a medical exam in a local hospital and then have it translated, or do i have to make an appointment with one of the panel physicians on the cic site?

The financial support proof, I have to send the bank statement, my mom is my financial support, do I have to send her bank statement or mine? Can I send more than one bank statement? Also I know it has to be translated, but does it have to be in CAD, because my bank statement will be all in Japanese Yen, I can try make it into USD, can I send in American dollars? Can I have the bank statement translated by my teacher as well? And can he make the currency conversion? Does It need an affidavit for the currency conversion?

Hi, i recently submitted my documents and some of them were in Arabic and so needed translation. I think it is fine to have your teacher translate it but include an affidavit attesting to the accuracy of the translation and the language abilities of the translator. Your teacher can also translate your bank docs for you but do not alter anything in all of your documents. If it is in Yen, the translations must also reflect currencies in Yen. There is no need to convert it to USD or CAD.

ReGarding your medical exam, it has to be done by only the physicians listed on the cic site.

Note: I am still waiting for my visa approval so I am not totally sure about my answers. But we have a similar case. My mom is also my financial support so I sent both my bank statements and hers as well. Her bank documents were in arabic and in dinar currency so I had them translated but kept the currency in dinar.

I had the translations done in the philippine embassy but failed to secure an affidavit from the official translator. My agency said it would be fine but as a precaution, I had them translated again by a friend and let him sign an affidavit. I included both the translations from the embassy and my friend in my application.
