Hi there,
I would like to support my daughter to apply for a Study Permit through SDS program. Please kindly let me know if I will need to provide financial proof for my current incomes or not while I can help her pay full tuition fees of her first year of study and buy GIC ? My daughter got IELTS score of 6.5 and she will get a letter of admission from a university in Canada soon. Thank you very much for your answer.

You would only need to pay her first year’s tuition fees and Gic. You can either get gic from Scotia bank or cibc. Don’t get pressured to buy gic from a certain bank! Scotia bank would pay 2k$ when you first open your account and then reimburse approximately 667$ every month whereas cibc would pay 2k$ when you first open your account and then the remainder will be paid every 1.5 month so you’ll get 1k$ per 1.5 months.

No problem! Make sure to check which bank has the closest bank to the college your daughter is admitted to. If cibc is closest to her college and place of accommodation then choose that or else you can get gic from Scotia bank ^^
