Hello,

I am a visitor in Canada. I want to apply for a Study Permit without going back to my country (under the new regulations), As of June 1, 2014, certain foreign nationals may apply for and receive a study permit from within Canada.

So I am not sure if I can apply within Canada for my study permit?

I forgot to mention that this is quoted from the CIC website:

If you are already in Canada as a visitor, you have a few options if you still have legal status in Canada.

For a new study permit, you can apply:

from your home country or another country where you are lawfully admitted. Many visa offices have specific local instructions about which documents you must submit with your application and how they must be submitted (example by mail or in person). Consult the list of Canadian visa offices for the requirements and procedures you must follow when you apply, or
in person or by mail at the Visa Application Centre in Los Angeles.

So, I can apply by mail to los angles office? is that correct ?

You can apply for a study permit from within Canada if you are one of the following:

•minor children studying at the primary or secondary level;
•exchange or visiting students; and
•students who have completed a short-term course or program of study that is a condition for acceptance at a designated institution
