Hi all,

I am a PhD student filling out the IMM1294. I'm a US citizen that is presently in Canada as a visitor (arrived February 2020 before COVID and travel restrictions). As such, I have noted on the form that my current country of residence (question 7) is Canada, and my status is 'visitor' with the appropriate dates. However, the country from which I am applying (question 9) is the US, as I am seeking to have the permit processed by a US office. I have spoken to my university's international student's office and they were the ones to direct me to fill it out this way. I had no problem following these instructions except for one.

I list the US as my country where applying, and indicate my status there as a citizen. However, it asks for 'from' and 'to' dates as to my status in the US. I entered my birth date as the 'from' date, since it is when I gained US citizenship. However, the 'to' box confuses me - my US citizenship does not have an end date. I don't know what to put as the 'to' date for that box.

Can anyone help with that?
