Hello, I need some help with a problem.
I came to Canada, Winnipeg in 2019 January and started school for a bachelors degree over here. After completing my first semester I dropped out due to some personal issues and applied to get into a community college; however, I did not meet the requirements to get into a community college so I decided to complete my grade 12 online through Virtual High School as per the requirement for the community college. Studying online does not make up for studying full time as it says on the study permit. According to the rules, I was not studying anywhere. As per IRCC website, a student can stay in Canada for 150 days without studying which I was not aware of at first but then I consulted a lawyer and he told me to voluntarily leave Canada until I get accepted to a community college which I did. My over stay in Canada was for exactly 20 days after which I left.

I recently came back and joined school for good; however, I am applying for my study permit extension right now and there is a question in the form which says and I quote

"Have you ever remained beyond the validity of your status, attended school without authorization or worked without authorization in Canada? Yes/No"

What should I write? Yes or No? I have all the documentations with me including the receipt with the date on it of when I consulted the lawyer and I left the country within 4 days after doing so. It was only 20 days!

You are asking if you should lie or not? The answer to that is pretty clear which I am sure you already know. You risk misrepresentation for lying and a potential ban of 5 years from Canada.
