Hello guys, I am in a 16 month diploma course which ends on April 2014 and my visa expires on august 2014. But I decided to take the next semester off and start my final semester in may 2014. So, I want to know if it is possible to apply for an extension? if yes, when should I apply for it? Because if I start my semester in may 2014, it will finish in august 2014. And I wont have time or visa for graduation.

Some1 please ... I will be in a situation which will require study permit extension later.

Hello,
yes, you can apply for study permit extension at that time.. apply around 2-3 months prior to expiry date.

In may 2014 when your session starts, apply for extension. that's the best time to apply for it after you have paid the fee and started the session.

Thank you for the reply. Just a last question, do I have to give the reason as to why I took the semester off?

they may because CIC is getting stricter now...especially with the changes coming January
