Study permit extension: error in name

Hi everyone,

I was wondering if anyone had experienced something like this and if so, if you had have any advice/input to share.

  • I successfully extended my study permit and received it today.
  • My name is not correct on my permit (it does not match my name on my passport) and I would need to change it.
  • I am usually very careful in filling out forms & check things, but when I checked the IMM form I submitted as part of the application, I realized that I had made the error & so, I am responsible for the error. This is something I completely missed earlier.
  • I will be submitting a request to amend the valid study permit with all the required documents and a brief letter of explanation.
Has anyone experienced this? I realize that it may be quite routine for immigration services, but I am really worried about this (will they refuse it? can it affect my future PGWP?) and would be grateful to hear any advice/input you may have to share. Thank you!
 
Hi. How many days after the approval of your SP extension did you receive the new document? Did you receive it by mail? And did you mention the address for it on your IMM form?
