I am currently studying in Canada on a study permit. I am from the UK with British Citizen passport.
My course ends in Mid-April and my permit has a condition at the bottom that say I must leave Canada by 6th May. However I did not notice the condition date when I collected my visa back in September and as such my flights are not booked to go home until 9th May. I do not want to over stay my visa but I also do not really want to change my flights as all the transport etc is booked to and from airports.
The immigration office at my university suggested I leave Canada into the US (land crossing) and re-enter Canada under the up to 6 month visitor status granted to British Citizens.
Will Customs and Border control see this as a "visa run" and deny me entry back into the countr? I know I can change my permit into a visitor record but I am wondering this option of border crossings in something feasible
