Got the e-mail late this afternoon!! My heart was pounding so I said a little prayer before downloading the attachment and behold: Your application to study or work in Canada has been approved.

Still in shock at the moment and I don't know whether to be excited or to be afraid that yes, I will indeed be leaving home for the first time in the coming weeks! :o

Thank you all on the forum for the advice and I myself will try and continue to help where I can as this can indeed be a stressful time for anyone applying! I wasn't actually expecting a response from CIC for the next 2 weeks as my medicals only reached London last week (17th) and most people..if not all Id spoken to from here said it would take 15-20 days to process!

Oh and by the way, Wednesday is my new favourite day!...Why? I applied on a Wednesday, Got medical email on a Wednesday, Medicals arrived in London on a Wednesday and my approval came on a Wednesday!..lol ;D

Anyway, good luck to all still waiting for news!!

And incase you're wondering how I did it, here's a previous post of mine I did offering some advice: http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/got-medical-request-emailmy-advice-to-you-t155465.0.html

:)

Congratulation buddy!!

:)

Thats preety awesome. How long does the processing time indicates in the website. Il be applying for Jan intake in the end of August at Kenya Consulate, their processing timings are mentioned as 11 weeks.

Congratulations anyways. .

Thanks guys!

And @navkaur, The website says 12 weeks, but when I emailed my embassy they said 10weeks and it took me 5weeks :) But if my medicals didn't have to be sent to the UK and application didnt have to be processed in SA it probably would've taken 3weeks.

Since you are applying from Kenya, Id advise to apply well in advance to give them the full 12 weeks it may take. This is because the Kenya office is responsible for several other countries applications. Also, I heard that the reason our medicals from Zim are sent to the UK is because they used to be sent to Kenya but the processing was sooo slow many people were missing their intended travel dates and as you can see the UK office is very efficient as it reviewed and approved my medicals with 7days. Hope that helps.

Yes but even if I see now...we have to submit our medicals to London as well. For tourist visas they are very quick. I received my tourist visa last year in 5 business days although in website it is mentioned 15 days. Even same as my husband last month.

I hope my student permit be as quick. Il be applying in the end of August. They have mentioned the deadline as 4th October. ..

Best of luck for your future endeavour.

And its good then that your medicals are also submitted to London so hopefully things should move quickly for you. Kinda strange how they actually give you deadlines to apply...theres no deadlines here but the do encourage you to apply with 8-10weeks before courses start.

Do you think I stand a good chance to get because I have a tourist-business visa valid till 2021. And plus US visa valid till 2022. And a good history..

Even my hubby holding same visas as above. So our company profile is already in embassy.

Plus I am a business woman (shareholder of 2 companies with my husband)and leaving my hubby behind.
How much you showed as proof of funds???

Oh wow, thats a really solid profile. And having both US and Canada visa seems to be a plus as they see that you visit first world countries and still retutn home thus indicating good travel history.

And my proof of funds wasnt even alot...probably around US$5000 combined in parents accounts!..But I did pay for tuition and accomodation and showed the receipt. Also 4 months bank statements of active accounts to show that they get regular income.
