Hi,

I have been twice rejected for tourist visa to Canada from India. I have 2 sisters in Canada and I wanted to visit them, but was refused tourist visa. I got admitted to a bachelor diploma of two years recently, and I was thinking of applying for student visa. I was wondering:
1. Are my chances of rejection fir study permit high?
2. I have a bachelor degree from India, but I applied for this diploma as it is a vocation training, should I aim for masters
3. If I get rejected for study permit, what are my chances for an appeal?
4. My aim to get a Bachelor diploma is to get hands on training, to open my business here and get a global perspective, is that enough to show family ties?

Any help is appreciated.

What is a Bachelor's Diploma? I think you mean Diploma. High chance you get rejected given you already have a Bachelor's degree already and have 2 sisters in Canada. You have the option of applying again if refused. You can appeal if you go to court in Canada with a lawyer but will probably lose.
4. No. Advise you apply for a Master's program given your refusal and family connection in Canada.

Let me tell you my own experience.

My 2 uncles & aunts are citizen of Canada, My grand parents are also PR holder. My mother has rejection on PR file in 2013 and I was under there in file as a dependent.

I did my Btech in Instrumentation and control with 6.88 GCPA in 2019 . I have scored 6.5(6) bands.
I tried to find PG courses but I have not get any PG course relevant to my field so I selected diploma in same field.

I lodge my file on 11th June 2020 and it was rejected on 11th Sep then after I applied for GCMS notes. In notes, They have mentioned that given family ties in Canada and India, economic motive to remain in Canada I am not satisfied that applicant leave Canada at the end of the period.
secondly they have mentioned that course is down grad and less scope in future so why you want to spend so much amount on particular course.
( My course has really good scope in future because it is automation and robotics related course)

After analyzing my notes I prepared my letter of explanation and reapplied on 22th Oct 2019 and it was rejected on 30th Nov 2019.
But I am surprised to see that I shorted our my family ties reason.
2nd time they gave me rejection reason for course so I am going to change my course from UG diploma to PG certificate and going to reapply soon.

One thing I noticed that having family members in Canada is weak point for us in Student visa and strong point in PR file but many students are getting student visa so we just need represent our case carefully and select our course carefully.

I hope my experience will helpful to short out doubts.

1. What were the refusals for?
2. Yes, try to get admission for masters.
3. You need to address reasons for refusal.
4. Family ties=property, what family you have back home, car, investments, other material possessions for which you will have to come back.
