I am about to apply for my study permit after being accepted into college. I wish my husband and kids to accompany. We have TRV's, funds and family ties.

Could applying work permit for my husband jeopardize my chances of getting a study permit or are they dealt with separately?

Its best you secure your SP first before applying for a SOWP for him or you can do it when you get there since there is already a TRVs to your family name, just take the process a step at a time

Given that you will be asking to uproot you and your family it has to make sense given your previous education and has to lead to career advancement. Given many courses would also be available in the UK you will have to have a good reason for you and your family to move to the Canada. If the move involves the whole family there will definitely be more scrutiny. Obviously CIC is aware that the student visa program is often used if a family does not qualify for other immigration programs. If you are pursuing a masters or PhD your chances will likely be much better.
